About "Rathaus Basel, 1963" &  "Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milano, 1963"

Photography is an interactive experience between art and technology, where the tools inspire the art and shape its character. In 1963, I traveled through Europe with a 1950s Speed Graphic camera, capturing scenes that felt "photogenic" in Black and White. The two photos on display are among the best from that journey, now digitized and printed with modern technology. My work spans family, travel, documentary photography, and digital imaging research, blending analogue and digital techniques.

About Mark Segal

I am Mark Segal, born in Montreal, Canada, with a background partly shaped by my time in La Suisse Romande. While I was drawn to photography early on, I pursued a career as a professional economist, with photography as a self-taught passion. I began my career in academia and later focused on international development and energy economics. Since retiring in 2016, I’ve dedicated myself to photography, specializing in documentary and technical work, always believing that a great photograph belongs on paper.
